Meet Katie

Store owner and life-long knitter, Katie has expanded the size of the business in the 9 years she's owned it.  While she's built expertise in all the fiber arts, her favorite craft is still knitting.  In addition to having a great eye and a creative spirit, Katie's super power is her organizational skills, which is evident in how well structured the shop is. Customers find the store packed with gorgeous yarn and accessories that are not just fun to explore, they're easy to find.

Lost Art has come a long way since its humble beginning in 1979 in Lois Brakeman's Front Street home as the Lost Art Yarn & Rug Hooking store. The shop has changed locations and focus a couple times over the decades, but it's always maintained its commitment to quality yams at affordable prices.

Meet the rest of the staff...

Kate Husband: As a member of the State Department for 25 years, Kate has lived, worked and KNIT around the world. Kate brings a wealth of global experience to her teaching and tutoring.

Mary Jo Piper: MJ was a loyal customer for many years before she Was an employee. Now she literally spends her entire paycheck on yam (and an occasional bag she cannot live without)!

Two wooden knitting needles with a heart shape formed between their tips, resting on bundles of cream and beige yarn.
